In Rhyme is aimed at expanding access to reading resources to students from underserved communities in India. Through a multifaceted approach, the goal of the project is ultimately to nurture creative writing and reading skills in young students. One of the main initiatives will be the Building in Rhyme Library, where a collection of books, including donated works from various sources, will be established at Adharshila to expose students to a broad range of literature. To support their creative process, the Ideating in Rhyme Activity Book will guide students through the multiple stages of developing their writing, from initial brainstorming to final drafts. Additionally, the Writing in Rhyme Workshops will teach students the fundamentals of poetry, including meter and rhyme, while encouraging them to experiment with free verse.
These workshops will culminate in the Slam x Adharshila Talent Showcase, where students will have the opportunity to present their creative works.
To further support the initiative, the Empower in Rhyme Fundraiser will be launched through the crowdfunding platform, Milaap, in order to raise funds for the library at Adharshila. Following the talent showcase, the students' creative works will be compiled into the Adharshila in Rhyme Anthology, a collection of poetry and writings that will provide them with a lasting record of their work. Through these channels, In Rhyme hopes to provide young studens with resources, support and opportunities.
